Chemical Engineering at UNPAR |
Developing Local Potential with a Global Spirit

Established on April 22, 1993, the Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering at UNPAR operates under the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI), which was founded with the spirit of UNPAR’s founders, Mgr. Arntz and Mgr. Geise, who sought to advance education in Indonesia, particularly in the Pasundan region. The founding of FTI was initiated by a small team led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ign. Suharto, APU, who formally began work on November 1, 1992. The Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering first accepted students in the 1993 academic year after receiving authorization from the Ministry of National Education (MENDIKNAS) through Decree No. 34/D/O/1993.

Recognition and Accreditation

Since its inception, the Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering at UNPAR has continued to grow and achieve significant milestones. In 1998, the program received “Recognized (Diakui)” status from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) through Decree No. 014/BAN-PT/Ak-IV/VII/2000. Another significant step occurred in 2009 with the establishment of the Master’s Program in Chemical Engineering, based on the Directorate General of Higher Education Decree No. 111/D/T/2009. Both undergraduate and master’s programs have demonstrated continuous positive development to this day.

In 2023, the Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering at UNPAR achieved international accreditation through General Accreditation from the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE) (Certificate No. 00132.A). Additionally, the program received the “Excellent (Unggul)” rating from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Engineering Programs (LAM TEKNIK) through Decree No. 0052/SK/LAM TEKNIK/PYT/VI/2023.

Meanwhile, the Master’s Program in Chemical Engineering at UNPAR also received recognition with a “Very Good (Baik Sekali)” rating from LAM TEKNIK in 2022, as per Decree No. 0090/SK/LAM TEKNIK/AM/VIII/2022.
